Who is Anne Roy?

Anne Roy is one of the most respected and connected leaders in Canadian motorsport. Over more than three decades, she has worked at every level of the sport, from media to executive leadership, building a rare and comprehensive understanding of how motorsport operates behind the scenes. As the first woman to lead an IndyCar event in Canada and a 2020 Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame inductee, she has earned the trust of teams, promoters, series officials, and drivers across Canada and internationally.

Her career includes senior communications leadership in Formula Atlantic, General Manager of the Edmonton IndyCar race, and Communications Director for Lotus’s IndyCar program. She has advised and coached some of Canada’s top drivers competing on the world stage, guiding them through complex sponsor, media, and operational environments. Few professionals combine broadcast credibility, executive management experience, and deep operational knowledge at this level.

Equally important is the strength of Anne’s national and international network. After decades in paddocks, race control, team offices, and promoter boardrooms, she has built enduring relationships across the ecosystem, including engineers, race officials, series directors, media leaders, and event operators. That access is active and trusted, and it enables structured placements and meaningful industry engagement.

The Anne Roy Motorsport Equity Initiative is built on that foundation. It is a practical pathway designed and led by someone who understands how the sport functions and how professionals enter and advance within it. Anne’s experience, credibility, and global reach uniquely position her to open doors, set standards, and deliver measurable opportunity for the next generation.

THE FOUR-STAGE PATHWAY

1. Discover

Open-access Discover Days introduce young women to the full motorsport ecosystem beyond the driver’s seat.

2. Develop

Expert- and mentor-led learning, delivered online, at track, and off-site, spans the roles that power motorsport.

3. Place

Competitive, funded placements put participants into real race operations with clear role expectations.

4. Lead

Alumni become ambassadors, mentors and future leaders who help define the next phase of the initiative.

Placements are delivered only when sponsor funding and host commitments are secured.

Career Pathways

The Initiative focuses on real roles across the motorsport ecosystem, not just the spotlight. Not all pathways will be active at once and will expand as host partners and funding allow.
